Our traveling sensory room is a bin full of sensory-friendly room equipment that can be set up at events in order to create a sensory-friendly space for attendees who need to decompress. Our kit includes florescent light covers, fidget toys, and other sensory aids. This kit can be used to equip a room where any kid – or adult – can come inside to relax during events that could be overwhelming.

Here’s how it works:

  • You pick up the kit from us. It’s in an XL plastic tote. It’s a bit heavy, but we will do our best to provide a cart if available. The wheels allow you to pull it like a rolling suitcase and makes it a bit easier to get it around.
  • Inside the tote is everything you need to set up a sensory room for your event. There is an info sheet on how to choose a room, instructions on the basics of setting up the room, directional signs you can utilize to direct people to the room, and a sign that we request you set up in the room explaining our Traveling Sensory Room Program.
  • There are two options on how to run the room: Have a volunteer supervise the room but parents need to stay with their child, or have it as a check in/out system. We recommend the former but it’s up to you.
  • When the event is over, simply pack the items back in the tote using the enclosed checklist to ensure everything gets back in the box, and then deliver it back to us.

There is a small fee to check out the kit as normal wear and tear will require replacing items from time to time.

Community Organizations: $50

This fee can be paid by check at the time of pickup, or by using a debit/credit card through our Givebacks store.
