Dream. Plan. Do.

In 2022, the seeds of the Dysart SEPTSA were sown with a powerful DREAM – to ensure that every playground in our school district becomes a space accessible to every student. Recognizing the district’s ongoing commitment to this goal, we believed in our collective power to expedite the realization of this dream by working in harmony.

Our journey began with meticulous PLANning, as we assessed how best to collaborate with the school district. We identified the areas with the greatest needs and strategized on the most effective ways we could contribute to this transformative initiative.

Now, the time has come to DO! Since our inception in 2022, we have actively engaged with district administration, laying the foundation for what has now become the Accessible Playgrounds Initiative. As we set our sights on the first school in need, we are concurrently working on fundraising efforts to turn this vision into a reality.

Our vision

Our vision is that every student is able to access ever part of the playground and that our efforts would encourage the adoption of universal practices in other areas of our district and those around the state. At the core of our vision is the belief that every student should have unfettered access to every corner of the playground. Beyond this, we aspire to set a precedent for universal practices, not only within our district but also as an inspiration for others across the state. It’s a vision of inclusivity that extends beyond the boundaries of our immediate community.

“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”

— Christopher Reeve
